What the role does.
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of Team Hoyt Denver’s strategic plan
- Ensure activities align with the organization’s mission, vision and values
- Identify opportunities for growth and sustainability
- Foster a culture of inclusion, safety and belonging
Board Leadership
- Preside over all Board of Directors meetings and any Operational Leadership team meetings
- Develop meeting agenda in collaboration with the Vice President and Secretary
- Facilitate productive discussion and decision making
- Recruit, mentor and develop board members
- Ensure the board fulfills its fiduciary and governance responsibilities
- Lead annual strategic planning
Organizational Oversight
- Provide oversight of all organizational operations while empowering Board members and operational leaders to execute duties
- Monitor organizational performance against strategic goals
- Ensure policies and procedures are developed, maintained and followed
- Support succession planning for Board and Operational Leadership roles
Community and Public Relations
- Serve as the primary ambassador and spokesperson for Team Hoyt Denver
- Build relationships with key community stakeholders
- Represent Team Hoyt Denver at races, fundraising events, corporate and community presentations and in media opportunities
- Promote awareness of adaptive racing and the importance of disability inclusion throughout the community
Fundraising and Development
- Lead major fundraising initiatives and donor cultivation
- Assist in identifying grant opportunities and corporate sponsorships
- Encourage Board and Operational Leadership to actively participate in fundraising efforts
Financial Oversight
- Partner with the Treasurer to monitor the organization’s financial health
- Review budgets and monthly financial reports
- Support financial sustainability through strategic planning, including development of an endowment fund
Volunteer Leadership
- Recruit and retain volunteer Operational Leadership team
- Oversee Operational Leadership team and work collaboratively to ensure they are meeting their responsibilities and objectives
- Recognize volunteer contributions and foster a positive organizational culture
Race & Program Support
- Provide executive oversight of all Team Hoyt Denver race operations and programs
- Ensure rider athletes, runners and volunteers have a safe, inclusive and meaningful experiences
- Support expansion of adaptive racing opportunities throughout the Denver metro area
