The President serves as the chief volunteer leader of Team Hoyt Denver, providing strategic direction, organizational leadership and governance to ensure the organization fulfills it’s mission. The President champions the organization’s vision, develops community partnerships, leads the Board of Directors and oversees the organization’s Operational Leadership team.

View roleThe Race Director coordinates Team Hoyt Denver’s participation in races from initial race selection through race day and post-race follow-up. The Race Director strives to make sure each race is accessible, organized, safe, and enjoyable for THD athletes, runners, volunteers, families, and supporters—while building strong relationships with race organizers so participation gets easier over time. This position works closely with the Racing Chair Director and the Trailer Director to successfully get Team Hoyt Denver to the starting line of every race.
View roleThe Race Manager coordinates Team Hoyt Denver’s participation in a minimum of 4 races annually. The Race Manager strives to make sure each race is accessible, organized, safe, and enjoyable for THD athletes, runners, volunteers, families, and supporters—while building strong relationships with race organizers so participation gets easier over time. This position works closely with the Racing Chair Manager and the Trailer Manager to successfully get Team Hoyt Denver to the starting line of every race.
View roleThe Racing Chair Director is responsible for the overall care, safety, maintenance, inventory and race-readiness of Team Hoyt Denver’s fleet of racing wheelchairs (RWC). This role ensures that every Rider Athlete has access to a properly maintained, safe and appropriately fitted racing wheelchair for Team Hoyt Denver races and events. The Racing Chair Director serves as the primary point person for all matters related to the racing wheelchairs and works closely with the Race Managers, Cargo Trailer Manager, Riders and Runners.
View roleThe Racing Chair Manager is responsible for the overall care, safety and maintenance of Team Hoyt Denver’s racing wheelchairs (RWC) on race day. This role ensures that every Rider Athlete has access to a properly maintained, safe and appropriately fitted racing wheelchair for their assigned Team Hoyt Denver races and events.
View roleThe Trailer Director is responsible for the overall management, safety, organization, transportation and security of Team Hoyt Denver’s cargo trailer and the equipment and materials stored within it. The cargo trailer is a critical part of THD’s race-day operations, transporting racing wheel chairs (RWC), supplies and other equipment needed to safely support our rider athletes and runners. The Trailer Director serves as the primary point person for everything related to the trailer and ensures that it is safe, clean, organized, secure, properly maintained and at the right place at the right time. The Trailer Director will oversee 2 Trailer Managers who assist with the towing, loading and unloading and other race-day responsibilities.
View roleThe Trailer Manager is responsible for towing the cargo trailer to and from their assigned races and events and reports to the Trailer Director. The cargo trailer is a critical part of THD’s race-day operations, transporting racing wheel chairs (RWC), supplies and other equipment needed to safely support our rider athletes and runners.

Most importantly, this role builds relationships with our rider athletes and families, helping them feel connected, informed and truly part of the Team Hoyt Denver community.
View roleThe Chair Fit Specialist makes sure every Rider Athlete sits in a racing wheelchair that truly fits them — correctly sized, positioned and padded so they are safe, supported and comfortable for the full race distance. Working with Rider Athletes, their families and caregivers, this role assesses each athlete’s seating and positioning needs, specifies the padding, supports and strapping that make a chair right for that athlete, and records those details in the THD Portal so any Racing Chair Manager can set the chair up correctly at any race. The Chair Fit Specialist works closely with the Racing Chair Director and the Rider Athlete Relations Manager, and revisits fit as athletes grow and their needs change.
View roleThe Marketing Director leads Team Hoyt Denver’s marketing, communications and brand efforts to increase awareness of our mission, celebrate our athletes, engage the community and support the organization’s continued growth and fundraising. This position is responsible for telling the Team Hoyt Denver story consistently and effectively across all communication channels. The Marketing Director works closely with the President, Board of Directors and the team to showcase the impact of Team Hoyt Denver and increase our presence in the community.
View roleThe Social Media Specialist is responsible for Team Hoyt Denver’s day-to-day presence across social media, turning race days, athlete milestones and volunteer moments into content that grows our audience and brings new athletes, runners, volunteers and donors to the team. Working from the strategy set with the Marketing Director, this person owns the social media calendar, captures and publishes content, and is the voice that answers comments and messages. The Social Media Specialist works closely with the Marketing Director, the team photographer and the Event Director so that Team Hoyt Denver’s story is told consistently, accurately and often.
View roleThe Fundraising and Sponsorship Director plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the financial sustainability and growth of Team Hoyt Denver. Together with the Board, this individual develops and executes strategies to secure funding through corporate sponsorships, foundations, grants and individual giving, advancing our mission of inclusive running for athletes of all abilities.
View roleThe IT Director is responsible for the technology systems that power Team Hoyt Denver’s operations, including our public website, member portal, email and communications platforms, cloud document storage and the third-party integrations that connect them. This position keeps THD’s technology reliable, secure and easy to use for the board, directors, volunteers and athletes who depend on it, and looks for opportunities to replace manual, error-prone processes with technology solutions that improve scalability of the volunteer base and consistency of outcomes for our athletes and volunteers. The IT Director works closely with the President and Marketing Director on CRM management, the public website, member-facing applications and communications; with the Race Director, Volunteer Relations Manager and Racing Chair Director on member portal functionality supporting race-day logistics; and with the Treasurer on donation and reimbursement system integrations. This is currently a solo role with no direct reports.
View roleThe Event Manager will work with the Board and other Team Hoyt Denver leadership to plan, organize and deliver a variety of non-race events that support our mission of inclusion for athletes with disabilities. This person serves as the primary point person for Team Hoyt Denver special events. This role is key to building our community, enhancing donor engagement and creating fun experiences for our athletes, families and supporters. Events may include: fundraising events, team celebrations, social get-togethers, other non-running AWD events and post-race event gatherings that strengthen the Team Hoyt Denver community.
